Tips For New Students

Complete your New Student Orientation Online module
This interactive program will help prepare you to become a successful Lope by introducing you to hundreds of involvement opportunities and how get plugged in here on campus
Check back on Monday, December 2nd for access

Download the GCU Student app
This app houses your class schedule, digital student ID, a campus map, live video of campus dining lines, and much more! It's a must-have for navigating campus.

Don't skip your O-Group!
You'll meet your Orientation Group after Commissioning on Saturday, January 4th. Meet other new students in a small-group setting and learn what you can expect as you transition to campus!

Attend your Hall Meeting, Community Gathering, and Life Group
These events start during Welcome Week and take place in your living area and are designed to build connection with your suitemates and hallmates. Commuters can plug into a Life Group as well!

Attend the Club & Community Fair
This popular event features campus clubs, departments, organizations, Student Leadership opportunities, and popular community members. It's the perfect place to start learning about community on campus.

Try a little bit of everything
You never know what groups or activities might be a great fit for you! Attend lots of events, join an intramural team, join a fitness class, hop into the Multicultural Lounge, register for a Local or Global Outreach ministry, check out the ESports Arena, or just hang out on campus for pick-up basketball or frisbee. Pro tip: even the most confident people get nervous with big changes.

Starting at college or transitioning to a new one is a major life transition. We will teach you more about the W-Curve Theory with your O-Group, during Spring Welcome Week.
